2025 DUMMY EDITION
In 2025, an exclusive edition of the Scannedfootballphotos x Nike book was produced for Nike in Beaverton. Only 150 copies were produced. The book was given to global heads and other bigwigs, it for example also reached Nike CEO Elliott Hill, who keeps the book on permanent display in his office.
NEW 2026 EDITION
After giving Nike more than a year to make the book public, and despite an endless amount of video-calls, repeated promises and telling me how much they love it, Nike just never did it. So now I’ve decided to just do it myself. To make this new independent release in edition of 1.000 possible, I need 200 pre-orders.
All pre-orders need to be placed before May 1st. The book is scheduled for release in June and can be sent out to you right before the 2026 World Cup.
PRE-ORDER CONDITIONS
The pre-order price is €95, which includes a €30 discount for early supporters of the book. The retail price will be €125 upon release. If the goal of 200 pre-orders by May 1st won't be reached, the book won't be produced and everyone who placed a pre-order will be fully refunded. All payments go via Stripe, which make the process of possible refunds easy to organize. I assume 200 pre-sales won't be a problem but just in case! In the slideshow above you see photos of the 2025 dummy book, Julian Sirre will develop a new design for the 2026 version.
THE BOOK ITSELF
The 414-page book showcases the ultimate selection of Nike-related photographs, scanned from 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s football magazines, cards, fanzines and other printed materials. Focusing on the pre-smartphone era, the images in this book capture a time before the digitalization of photography, featuring the energy of the 90s.
To create this book, I travelled to Italy and Japan in search of rare material, discovering images even Nike didn't know themselves. The book is a time capsule of a lost energy.
